About
whatsapp‑web.js is a powerful Node.js library that lets you interact with WhatsApp Web, making it easy to build a dynamic WhatsApp API with nearly all features of the web client. It uses Puppeteer to access WhatsApp Web’s internal functions and runs them in a managed browser instance to reduce the risk of being blocked.

Installation
Node.js v18.0.0 or higher, is required.
npm install whatsapp-web.js
yarn add whatsapp-web.js

Realtime monitor (QR + full event stream)
Use the dedicated monitor script to trace the full client event pipeline in realtime:
npm run monitor
What it does:
- Starts a
ClientwithLocalAuthin persistent mode (session is reused between runs) - Prints QR in ASCII on the terminal when a new QR is required
- Logs all
Clientemitted events as JSONL in stdout (timestamp,seq,source,event,argTypes,summary) - Captures Puppeteer page diagnostics (
console,pageerror,error) - Appends full raw payloads to
logs/wwebjs-raw.log
Notes:
- If your saved session is still valid, the
qrevent may not fire (normal behavior) - Raw logs are append-only and keep accumulating across executions
